Body centered psychotherapy

Dance therapy and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy are both body centered psychotherapies.

Why body centered psychotherapy? At some moments in life you get the impression that you are confronted by the same kind of issues over and over again.
It may be worthwhile to see if you can change such patterns. Is this about others? Or does it have something to do with yourself ?

From our very first start in life we learn – psychologically as well as physically – to react to our situation in a way that is useful for us at that moment. This repeated way of reacting shapes us and it colors our experiences. But what once started as useful and wise can become a barrier in later life in contact with others and with ourselves. Maybe you feel unsatisfied with your life. Then it is time to do something about it.

Body centered therapies give insight into your problems and patterns and also offer possibilities to change in a direction that suits you better. Life becomes more free and simpler and naturally more choices will help you come into your own. Your life will gain its natural momentum, it will be fuller. You’ll have more energy to welcome – or to oppose – changes that come your way.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy

Becoming aware of relationships between body, emotions and thought you get insight in patterns that obstruct your daily life and you get the tools to change them.
